For over 2,000 km, this cycle route follows signposted paths through the entire Lower Rhine region. The main route, which is 1,215 km long in total, is supplemented by 820 km of connecting paths. This provides numerous opportunities for individual route planning
2-country route, distance 0 km
This cycle route near the border starts in the old imperial city of Aachen and after 275 km reaches Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands. Along the route, the cultural heritage of the two neighbouring countries comes to light.
Manor house route, distance 0 km
The cross-border route leads to our Dutch neighbours and has a length of approximately 500 km. It is divided into 15 smaller routes. The cyclist experiences the history of the Lower Rhine in the form of over 50 castles and palaces. In addition to the old manor houses, other historical sights such as museums, churches and monasteries as well as windmills can be visited. The floodplains of Niers and Maas offer a varied and charming landscape.

With a length of 13.6 km, this route leads to the asparagus farms around Walbeck and to the restaurants in the centre of Walbeck.
Way of St. James, distance 0 km
In 1987, the European Council called for a revival of the Way of St. James. The centuries-old and partly already forgotten European network of the Way of St. James thus moved more into the focus of institutions, governments and associations. The regional route via Kevelaer in the direction of Santiago de Compostela leads through the centre of Walbeck. A stele was erected at the Walbeck court garden (distance 0.05 km) in 2005.
Fossa route, distance 0.05 km
The Fossa Eugeniana, a canal between the Meuse and the Rhine dating from 1626 and never completed by the Spaniards, is the central theme of this cycle route through the municipalities of Arcen and Velden in Holland and Geldern, Walbeck and Straelen on the German side. You cycle through varied landscapes and (along historic ones) past romantic castles, farms and mills. The route has a length of about 80 kilometres, but can also be ridden in two sections of 35 km and 45 km.
Agro-route, distance 0,05 km
The agricultural offer of our region is shown to you on this route. Large, modern farms grow trees, flowers, vegetables and especially asparagus. The route takes you through a pleasant agricultural landscape of the municipalities of Arcen and Velden in Holland and Geldern, Walbeck and Straelen on the German side. It is 100 km long, but can also be taken in four circuits of 25 to 40 km each.

Rose route Lottum, distance 7 km
The village of Lottum, situated in the north of Limburg, is the centre of Dutch rose growing. Around 20 million garden roses grow here every year. Every "even year", on the 2nd weekend in August, the Rose Festival is celebrated in Lottum.
The route is 35 km long and passes rose farms, nurseries, rose fields and rose gardens.
